Lois Ann (Donahue) Klein, 91, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.
Lois was born on March 23, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan to Eleanor (Kolbe) and C. Frederick Donahue.
She graduated from high school in Saginaw and entered the work force. Lois was employed as a cashier, accounts payable clerk, receptionist, and as a secretary for a TV/Radio station and also for a CPA.
During her life, Lois lived in Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa. She and her husband, Bernie, moved to Iowa permanently in 1990.
In her 91 years, Lois was an avid reader and a jigsaw and crossword puzzle expert. She also enjoyed cooking and baking – especially her Christmas cookies. Lois participated in Bible studies as well as arts and crafts. She had an artistic ability and enjoyed drawing and painting. In her earlier years, she loved listening to Big Band and Lettermen music and hymns.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Carol Koehn and son-in-law, Paul, her stepdaughter Terry Lowe, her former daughter-in-law Jackie Klein and her sister-in-law Barbara Donahue. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren: Emily, Nathan, Beth, Paul W., Alisha, Sean, and Jennifer and 8 great-grandchildren. Lois’ niece Linda (Scott) Pless and nephew Kelly (Mary) Donahue, cousins and second cousins are also survived by her.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Bernard; son-in-law, George, her parents Eleanor and Fred; brothers Wallace and Gerald; nieces Wendy and Susan; many aunts and uncles and family members and friends.
As per Lois’ wishes, no services are planned.
Persons wishing to make a donation in Lois’ name are asked to do so to the American Diabetes Association or Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
