Our Funeral Directors
Nick Skurdal, Nick has worked for Overton and Parrott & Wood Funeral Homes since 2008. He grew up in West Union and currently lives at the Overton Funeral Home in Dysart with his chocolate lab, MacGyver. Nick loves to golf and attends Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart.
Christine Erie has worked for Overton and Parrott & Wood Funeral Homes for over 13 years. She is a Waterloo native and still lives here with her husband, Greg, who is a Waterloo Police Officer and her son, Henry. The Eries are members at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Jen King has worked for Overton and Parrott & Wood Funeral Homes for 3 years. She lives in Cedar Falls with her husband, Brian, who is Senior Pastor at Nazareth Lutheran Church. They have for children: Taylor, a Jr. at Wabash College; Justin, a Sophomore at St. Olaf College; Nathan, a Sophomore at CFHS; and Grace, an 8th grader at Peet Middle School.
Our Family Services Counselor
Bob Fread has been on the Overton and Parrott & Wood Funeral Homes Team for 9 years. He lives in Hudson with his wife, Sue, and they have 2 daughters: Sara and Hannah. He is licensed in Iowa as a pre-arranged funeral agent. Bob also serves as pastor of Ripley United Church in Christ of Traer.
