Keith A. Hobbs

Keith Hobbs, 68, of Des Moines Iowa, passed away in his home on January 13, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie Hobbs, his three children: son Tony (Jenny) Hobbs, his two daughters Tracey (Neil) Erickson, and Jessica Hobbs. His father James Raymond, and his eight brothers and sisters: Dan (Mary) Hobbs, Kathy Kenyon, Robert Raymond, John (Sue) Raymond, Rindy Raymond, Kelly (Hale) Overton, Janean (Bob) Hauser, James (Rhonda) Raymond. He was a proud Grandpa to his six Grandchildren: Krysta, Peyton, Gabriella, Celeste, Chase, and Evelyn, and many nieces, nephews, and other dear friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Raymond.

He was born July 29th, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri. Keith grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and attended Hoover High School. He married his wife Debbie on August 15th, 1981. Keith enjoyed showing his support for his grandchildren at their many sports and dance activities. He looked forward to Sunday dinners at home with his wife, children and grandchildren. Keith loved baseball and football, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed spending time with his husky, Bandit, going to movies, suntanning on the deck and going for a drive in the car.

He will be missed greatly by all friends and family. He will live in our hearts forever.

Visitation services will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home (4400 Merle Hay RD, Des Moines, IA) on Thursday, January 16th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday, January 17th, beginning at 10:30 AM. Luncheon will immediately follow the service at St. Mary’s of Nazareth Catholic Church (4600 Meredith DR, Des Moines, IA).
