Julie Ann Martin-Kingery

Julie Ann Martin Kingery, daughter of Calvin Ross and Jean Martin, was born June 9th, 1953, in Mason City. She died in Des Moines on March 21st, 2018 of Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) diagnosed on Feb 20th, 2018. She had a wicked sense of humor, along with being compassionate and non-judgmental.

Her life took many paths that eventually led her to United Community Services, where she provided alcohol and drug addiction counseling. Her work was admittedly challenging, yet she loved it.

However, her greatest love story of all was her family. Her daughter Jodi Cooper and her son Buck McClavy (Heather Tew) brought her great joy, along with her siblings, Ross (Susan Gleason), Tom (Bernice), and Sue Freeman (Andy Gentle). Then there were the grandkids who were crazy about her; Jacob Cooper, Skylar Tew, and Corbin McClavy. Julie had four nephews and four nieces who loved their Aunt unconditionally. Julie’s boyfriend, Greg, brought her incredible happiness over the past two years. Her countless friends only added to her love story. We will carry her in our hearts moving forward.

A casual gathering will occur on Sunday, April 8th, please stop by between 11 and 2 for fellowship and a light lunch at Palmer’s Deli on Ingersoll.

Online condolences will not publish to our website but will generate an email that is directed to the family.
