Stephen Jasper

December 6 1941 - March 13, 2016

Stephen J. Jasper, 74, of Des Moines passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Fleur Heights Care Center in Des Moines, surrounded by the love and comfort of his daughters. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 16, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Des Moines with a visitation 30 minutes prior to the service at the same location. Interment will follow the luncheon at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Stephen was born on December 6, 1941 to George and Eileen (Howe) Jasper in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Dowling Catholic High School. Stephen served as a Des Moines Fire Fighter and senior paramedic until his retirement in 1988. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Stephen will be greatly missed by the mother of his children, Victoria Jasper; daughters, Juliana (Alan) Kincheloe and Angela (David) Bellegante; grandchildren, Justin Kincheloe, Tony (Jenny) Bellegante, Amanda (Jeffrey) Podolski, Jessica Kincheloe (Fiancé, Michael Khan) and Annamarie Bellegante; sister, Joanne (Norman) Seib; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Stephen was preceded in death by his infant children, Marianne and Michael; and his parents.
A special thank you from the family of Stephen Jasper, to Lutheran Hospital ICU and respiratory therapists, as well as his caregivers at Fleur Heights Care Center and Unity Point Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
