January 4, 1982 - May 30, 2016

Stephanie Marie (Lukens) Halterman, 34, of Des Moines, passed away from a brain aneurysm on Monday night, May 30, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by family. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Knoxville First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Scott Olson officiating. A visiting hour will follow the service.

Stephanie was born on January 4, 1982 in Champaign, IL to parents, Warren and Marcy (Hawley) Lukens. On June 4, 2005 she married Delbert Lee Halterman III although currently separated, a friendship still remains. Stephanie enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, laughing, coloring, and spending time with her nephews. She had a contagious smile and always lit up a room when she walked in. She didn’t know a stranger and cared for many. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by Delbert of Chariton, IA; her parents, Warren and Marcy Lukens of Augusta, KY; sisters, Heather (Jason) Roberts of Olathe, KS and Ashley (Cress) Van Wyngarden of Knoxville, IA; and nephews, Matthias and Jacob Van Wyngarden; whom she adored. She is survived by her grandmothers; Mary Hawley and Mildred Lukens. She is also survived by her in-laws, brother in-laws, and nephews including: Levin, Colton, and Broxxton. She is survived by her companion, Richie Richards.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Keith Hawley and paternal grandfather, Max Lukens and Delbert’s paternal grandmother Jewel Farrell.
