Sharon Elizabeth Wolf

Sharon Elizabeth Wolf was born December 4, 1945, in Waterloo, daughter of Lawrence and Anona (Smith) Bates. She attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated with the Columbus High School Class of 1963. Sharon was married to Richard Wolf on March 23, 1963, and the couple made their home in Waterloo. She was a homemaker and mother to their four children while Richard worked for the Waterloo Courier. Sharon worked in various retail positions through the years at the Wolf Den Dairy Mart, County Market, Hy-Vee Food Stores, Lane Bryant and Victoria’s Secret. She was also a Princess House Distributor. Sharon enjoyed traveling with Richard, especially to Glacier National Park. She was a St. Louis Cardinals’ fan. Sharon will be remembered for being a selfless, fun, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She supported her family through the highs and lows of their many activities and adventures.

Sharon passed away at the age of 72 years on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center from complications following a heart attack. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Larry Joe and Timothy Bates. Sharon is survived by Richard, her husband of 55 years; 4 children: Tammy (Craig Schmidt) Meyers of Waterloo, Eric Wolf of Jesup, Shane (Kris) Wolf of Cedar Falls, and Stephanie (Mark) Tabor of Chesterfield, MO; 12 grandchildren: Drew (Amy) Meyers of West Des Moines, Miles Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Ashtyn, Adasyn, and Ayden Wolf of Jesup, Lauren (Trent) Prugh of Waterloo, Blake and Grant Wolf of Cedar Falls, Bennett, Maxwell, Graham, and Abraham Tabor of Chesterfield, MO; 1 great-grandson, Finn Meyers; 1 brother, Michael (Karen) Bates of Waterloo; and 1 sister, Sherry (Dan) Peters of Waterloo.
