Ryan Wood

Ryan Patrick Thomas Wood, 24, Of Des Moines, died  Saturday , April 22, 2017, at his home. Friends may visit with the family at Brooks South Town Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, from 4 to 7 p.m., on Thursday.

Ryan is survived by his mother Kim Hinkle (Don Hinkle) and his father Fuzzy Wood (Brenda Sly); brother McTavish Wood; step brother Brandon Hinkle; half-sister Reveca; aunts and uncles Tammy and Dean Poortinga , Larry and Ann Warn and David and Gretchen Warn, two cousins Matt and Nick Poortinga; grandparents Vernon Arnold and Virginia Thompson; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his three special friends Austin Quintana, Ashton Walker, and Cody Merkley.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Vernon and Clarice Warn and his special cat, Chester.

Ryan was born on March 17, 1993 in Des Moines. He graduated from Indianola High School in 2011, where was very active in football and baseball. He had many friends and had big dreams to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp.  Every time he saw a veteran, he never hesitated to thank them for their service to their country.

Ryan was a dare devil and lived by the moto, “no fear, no regrets”. He loved his tattoos and motorcycles, especially his Yamaha R6.  Ryan enjoyed hunting, snowboarding, and was a gamer. He liked shooting and had incredible skills when it came to shooting clay pigeons.  He loved his cat Popeye and dog KJ.

Ryan enjoyed working for Crinc Recycling and admired his boss, Bobby Beerbower
