Roberta Marie Klein Pratt was born January 18, 1927 in Eagle Center, Iowa: the daughter of Bernard and Ruth (Heinz) Klein. She attended School at St. Mary’s in Eagle Center and graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy in Waterloo. Bertie was united in marriage to William James Pratt on August 9, 1946; he preceded her in death on February 19, 1994. She was a housewife and enjoyed staying at home raising her children. Bertie was an avid painter, liked fishing, traveling, gardening and bird watching. She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and past President of the PEO Sisterhood.

Bertie passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Ravenwood Specialty Care at the age of 90. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother Willy Klein; a son-in-law John Brinyark, Jr. and a daughter-in-law Linda Pratt. Bertie is survived by seven sons: Bill (Sherry) Pratt of Nashville, Bob (Mindy Kraus) Pratt of Iowa City, Mike Pratt of Waterloo, John Pratt of Phoenix, Jim (April) Pratt of Waterloo, Joe Pratt of Olathe and Tom Pratt of Dallas; two daughters: Ginny (Don) Huisman of Clarksville and Kathy Brinyark of Waterloo; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, with three on the way and a sister Marjorie Diehl of Kansas City.

Roberta will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
