Robert L. Jensen, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Bishop Drumm Care Center.
Robert was born April 22, 1926 in Ida Grove, IA to Louis and Caroline Jensen. He was a graduate of Ida Grove High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On December 27, 1947, Bob married Dorothy A. Krick at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He retired in 1988 after 40 years with Meredith Corporation.
Bob appreciated the spirit of invention. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, and travel.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; daughter, Anita of Lincoln, NE; sister, Lydia Miller of Ida Grove, IA; brother, Delbert (Barbara) Jensen of Indio, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Albert.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 12 at Grace Lutheran Church, 3010 52nd Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Gardens.
