Robert E. Conn

August 29, 1955 - October 3, 2016

Robert Eugene Conn was born August 29, 1955 to Donald Eugene Conn and Shirley Louise Conn (Garwood) in Des Moines Iowa. Robert was raised and lived in Des Moines for most of his life.  Robert graduated from Lincoln High School on June 3, 1973.  Following high school, Robert enlisted in the US Army and served his country from 1973 until he was honorably discharged in 1976.  In July 1974 Robert was united in marriage to Cathy Reeves.  Robert became a father of two children from this marriage, Robert Eugene Conn, Jr. in 1976 and Angela Jean Conn in 1980.  Robert and Cathy later divorced.  In November 1989, Robert was united in marriage to Nona Jennings.  In this marriage, Robert became a father to one daughter, Kasey Morgan Conn in 1991 and acquired a stepson, Jeremy Cole. Robert and Nona later divorced.

Robert was a loving father, a good friend, and a hard worker.  Robert held many different jobs during his lifetime. His latest hobbies included laughing with Nona, with whom he had happily lived the last three years, watching TV, and spending time with his cats. Robert was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed 20 years of sobriety prior to his death.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Robert Conn Jr. (Jen) of  South Des Moines, Angela Conn of West Des Moines, and Kasey Smith (Alex) of Creston, his special friend and mother of his youngest daughter Nona Jennings, one brother David Conn of Northern California, and his three cats: Oliver, Scout and Molli.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Shirley, a sister Donna Jean, and his grandparents.
