Robert Archer Starace, 77, of Ankeny, died peacefully at home on June 11, 2017. He was born in Queens, NY, graduated from Baldwin High School in Pittsburg, PA, and attended Tri- State College in Angola, IN. He lived in and traveled to many states throughout his career in sales, with his fondest memories being the years he spent with Sunbeam Corp. Robert served 2 1/2 years in the U. S. Navy Reserve. He had a special love of flying and held his private pilot’s license. One of his hobbies was flying radio-controlled model airplanes with his friends who shared his passion.
He is survived by his wife Beverley, three children, Robin (Edward) Morlock of Kansas City, KS, Dennis Scott (Debbie) Starace of Dublin, OH, and Robert V. (Melissa) Starace of Corpus Christi, TX, three step-children, Tamara, John (Kim), and Scott Linn all of Des Moines, six grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, one niece and other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Archer Starace, his mother and step-father, Viola and Matthew Bruendl, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leveda and Ralph Fitch, brother Richard and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sharon McClure.
Per his wishes, his body will be cremated and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor House (Unity Point Health Foundation), the ARL, or a charity of your choice.
