Pacifico Camarin, Jr., was born in 1935 in San Juan, Leyte, Philippines: the son of Pacifico and Rosa (Getes) Camarin, Sr. He was united in marriage to Priscilla Junasa who preceded him in death in 2008. Pacifico earned his Masters Degree in Theology at the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. He served as a United Church of Christ Minister at congregations in Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota. Pacifico transferred his ministry to the United Methodist Church and served in the Iowa Conference. After retiring in 2000, Pacifico and Priscilla moved to Arkansas, then to Olathe, Kansas to be closer to family. Upon Priscilla’s death, he moved to Cedar Falls, where he still resided. Pacifico enjoyed singing, flowers and was an avid gardener. He loved being with his family, enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and was happily awaiting the arrival of his second grandchild.

Pacifico passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from natural causes at the age of 80. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Priscilla and a sister Adel Camarin. Pacifico is survived by his sons: Henry (Monica) Camarin of Olathe, Kansas and Hector (Juli) Camarin of Waterloo; a granddaughter Zoe Camarin and a sister Emilia (Lito) Manlubatan of Cabadbaran, Philippines.
