Michael Jack Kelly, 71, of Waukee, died Thursday, April 27, 2017. A visitation will be held at Merle Hay Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, where friends may greet the family from 9 to 11 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.
Michael is survived by his mother Dorothy, wife Lilane, and beloved dog, Remington.
Michael was born on October 12, 1945 in Des Moines. He spent many years working as a truck driver, driving across the United States. After his time driving, he started to work in women’s prison’s, spending time and making them better. He was highly admired by those he worked with and received a medal from the president for his hard work and ability to improve the women’s prisons, all throughout the United States.
Michael enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles, watching movies, and traveling.
