Margaret Alice (Tiger) Watkins was born June 9, 1934 in Honolulu, Hawaii, daughter of Orville and Peggy Tiger.  She had vivid memories of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Margaret moved to California when she was 18 and married Merlin Melton.  The couple moved to Iowa where they raised a family and were later divorced.  On May 11, 1985, Margaret was united in marriage to Neal Watkins at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, and most of all being with her grandchildren.  Margaret was the biggest wrestling cheerleader standing right along the mat to help coach her children.  She was an Iowa Hawkeye fan with a big, warm smile and a great sense of humor.  Margaret loved to cook big family meals!  She was a firecracker with a heart of gold.

Margaret passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the age of 81 years, at home in Evansdale from natural causes. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Tiger; and husbands, Merlin Melton and Neal Watkins.  Margaret is survived by her three sons:  Larry (Stacy) Melton of Lincoln, IA, Earl Melton of Waterloo, and Rocky Melton of Evansdale; three daughters: Rose Graugnard of Bakersfield, CA, Melissa (Joel) Cain of Urbana, MO, and Penny (Tim) Hope of Aurora, MO; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
