Lori L. Lammers, 54, of Johnston, IA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 13, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 17 at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church, 4600 Meredith Drive, Des Moines. The visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Lori was born on June 10, 1962 in Brookings, S.D. to parents Derald “Bud” and Jenny (Wheeler) Staley. She married Lloyd Lammers on May 8, 1981. and they had two children, Heather and Keith. Lori enjoyed a 34 year career as an early childhood educator, was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed boating, campfires, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She especially loved children, teaching, and her granddaughter, Marnie.
Lori will be missed dearly by her husband of 35 years, Lloyd Lammers; her children, Heather Lammers (Jill Parisi) and Keith Lammers (Kari Pflaum); granddaugher, Marnie Lammers; siblings, Judy Bruns, Derald (Renae) Staley, and Lesa (Chuck) Anderson; mother-in-law, Joyce Lammers; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Noblehart (Terry Smith); many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family, friends and the many children whose lives she touched throughout her years as a teacher. She was loved by everyone that met her and was truly happy to be surrounded by so many people.
Lori is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, Derald and Jenny Staley; father-in-law Lloyd Lammers, Sr.; sister, Vi Poeschl; brother-in-laws Bob Bruns and Mark Lammers; and nephews Nathan Bruns and Travis Staley.
