Lois “Jean” Johnson was born July 3, 1930 in Waterloo, daughter of Clyde Manross and Lois Greene. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo. Jean met Ray Johnson after he returned from his service in the war, and the couple was united in marriage on May 24, 1947. They moved to Madison, Wisconsin for a short time then returned to Waterloo. Jean loved crafting but was, truly, passionate about stock car races. She was the #1 fan for her sons, grandson, and friends never missing a race as long as her health allowed.

Lois passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 85 years at NorthCrest Specialty Care of Waterloo from natural causes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray in 1994; son, Douglas Johnson; grandson, Jason Burrill; and brothers: Warren Manross, Clarence Manross, Don Manross and Delbert Manross. She is survived by her son, Terry (Ranelle) Johnson of Waterloo; daughter, Betty Rae (Ross) Burrill of Ontario, CA; 3 grandchildren: Jeff Burrill, Jamie Johnson and Nick Johnson; 2 step-grandchildren: Danielle Vestal and Amanda Vestal; 3 great-grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Ashley Johnson and Fiona Johnson; and 4 step-great grandchildren: Alexys Okon, Raynah Vestal, Zane Vestal and Douglas Vestal.

Lois will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o Parrott & Wood Funeral Home.
