Larry Frank Snyder was born November 5, 1953: the son of Harold and Ruth (Marvets) Snyder. He graduated from Waterloo East High School with the class of 1971. Larry then attended DMACC in Ankeny for Electrical. He joined the Navy Reserves, retiring after 20 years with the Seabees. Larry was united in marriage to Connie Bergmeier on September 20, 1975 at Grace Baptist Church in Waterloo. He was employed at John Deere as an electrician. While at John Deere, he was in the Fire Brigade and attended Upper Iowa University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Business Management. Following his retirement, he worked at Port-A-Vet in Hudson and John Deere Waterloo Implement. Larry was an avid metal detector. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Some of his hobbies were motorcycle riding, woodworking, building and fixing things, reading and gardening. Larry loved to watch hours and hours of the Big Bang Theory. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandsons.
Larry passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center at the age of 63. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 grandchildren: Braden, Austin and Danica Droste; a sister Ginger Chilcote; and a half brother David Snyder.
