Kim Lee Stevens was born September 29, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Ronald and Carol (Dahlstrom) Stevens. He was raised along with his seven brothers and sisters in Waterloo and attended East High School. Kim served his country in the United States Army. After returning to Waterloo, he began work for John Deere in the Foundry. Kim also worked as a residential roofer until his health no longer permitted. After a series of health issues, he still kept busy by stripping plastic off wiring to salvage and sell the copper. Kim enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting items featuring eagles, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He would call members of his family during the day to share a good joke.

Kim passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Unity Point Health-Allen Memorial Hospital at the age of 60 years. He was preceded in death by his father. Kim is survived by his mother; 4 brothers: Daniel Stevens of Waterloo, Robert Stevens of Waterloo, Wayne (Janie) Stevens of Oelwein and Alan (Diane Wilson) Stevens of Evansdale; 3 sisters: Karen (Scott) Floyd of Gambrills, MD, Colleen (Dwayne) Reisner of Waterloo, and Connie Neisen of Waterloo; 2 sons: Marcus Stevens of Waterloo and Jeremey Stevens of Waterloo; and 1 granddaughter.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
