Kenneth Richard Kauten

Kenneth Richard Kauten was born on September 12, 1938 in North Eastern Iowa to John and Irma (Sprague) Kauten. Kenny grew up in Fairbank and moved to the Waterloo area when he was 13 years old. He met the love of his life, Lenora Topping in elementary school and the two were childhood sweethearts. They were married in 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church and celebrated 58 years of marriage before her death in 2013. Kenny was a lifelong farmer and worked at John Deere for 35 years before his retirement in 2003. He was extremely proud to work for John Deere as a welder and repairing tractors. Kenny loved NASCAR, mowing the lawn, collecting John Deere tractors, and watching his grandchildren play sports. During his retirement, he traveled with his wife and greatly enjoyed going to the beach.
Kenneth Richard Kauten died on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Bickford Cottage of Cedar Falls, at 79 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Lenora; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. He is survived by his son: Keith Kauten of Coralville; his 3 daughters: Debbra (Richard) Hinzman of Guttenberg, Diane (Steve) Kimball of Dunkerton, and Denise (Jeff) Brown of Hudson; 12 grandchildren: Terrance Junker, Melissa Peschang, Nathan Kimball, Leah Quintana, Ashley Damge, Allyson Miller, Sarah Bein, April Kimball, Nicholas Parker, Michael Parker, Alecia Kimball, and Peter Kauten; and 11 great grandchildren.
