Katherine “Kathy” (Green) Kuklin, 72, mother, grandmother,sister and aunt of Altoona, Iowa passed away peacefully on July 26, 2016, after a brief battle with brain cancer.
Kathy was born September 11, 1943 , in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She resided in Omaha, Nebraska for approximately 15 years before returning to Iowa and making Altoona her permanent residence. Over the past 13 years, visitors were greeted by Kathy’s contagious smile at the Iowa State Fair, her most anticipated event.
She is survived by son Greg (Michelle) of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter Tracy Thompson (Craig) of Runnells, Iowa, son Blake (fiance Kellye) of Dallas, Texas and son Mark (Julianna) of Waukee, Iowa, grandchildren Josh Hellerich (Saranda), Taylor, Hope, Cheyenne, Sheridan, Mia, and Jackson, brother Henry Green, sister Janice Core (Donnie), niece Kimberly (Steve), and numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband Paul Richard Kuklin, daughter-in-law Kristine Kuklin, parents Henry Green and Helen Lang, and brothers Edward and Ronald Green.
A memorial service will be hosted by Berean Assembly of God, 5299 E. University Avenue, Pleasanthill, Iowa at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, August 6, 2016. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m, prior to the service. In addition, a graveside service will take place 10:00 a.m Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Council Bluffs, prior to inurnment.
Words cannot express the gratitude for all the kindness bestowed upon Kathy over the past three months. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and there is no doubt the unyielding love, fond memories and immense support from everyone provided her comfort during her journey home.
