Karen Hayes

Karen is her Dads “Rebel Girl”, and my Soul Mate. Karen was born on January 22,1962 to Floyd Earl and Norma Jean Sheehan, and passed away on November 11, 2017. Karen was raised on Sheehan hill and attended schools in the Saydel district. Karen married Al Hayes on March 24,1979. Karen is the mother of two loving sons, Jesse  (Justine) Hayes and Ben Hayes. Grandma to J.J. And Jemma, sister to Kim ( Gary w/ Devon and Erin) Vaughn. Karen was proceeded in death by her mom, dad, and favorite brother Rex.

Karen worked as a custodian for 27 years, the past 15 with Polk County. The friendships Karen grew at the Senior Center, were just what they all unknowingly needed. Karen enriched the lives of those that let her in, to share time with. Karen was Beech’s “Ellie May Clampett”, rescuing and caring for all of God’s creatures. Karen passed that love/caring for God’s creatures  to her children and grandchildren.

We will have a Celebration Of Life service for Karen at the Sandyville Community Center on November  18, 2017 at 1 p.m. Join us to remember Karen, share a bite to eat, and listen to the best music ever recorded. We feel so blessed to have Karen in our lives.

Vaya con Dios: Al, Ben, Jesse Hayes.

We would also like to say Thank You to all of the loving and caring staff at the Kavanaugh House for helping Karen and her family.

Dena and Della, Thank you.
