Joan Pecenka Roth (1929-2017) of Waterloo, died on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Joan Pecenka Roth was born December 4, 1929, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Frances (Bernard) Demuth. She married Ervin R. Pecenka on April 14, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He passed away on October 7, 1985. Joan married Milton Roth on June 27, 1998. He passed away on July 4, 2013.

Joan graduated from East High School in 1947. She was a farm wife for 28 years, then worked for trucking companies, and was later employed by Rydell Chevrolet. She was a choir member and ordained Elder & Deacon of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Survived by: three sons, Steven (Claire Andreasen) Pecenka of Ames, Larry Pecenka of Bend, OR, and Michael (Rhonda) Pecenka of Boone; a daughter Sandra (Gordon) Johnston of LaPorte City, step-son Richard (Julia) Roth of Canyon Lake, TX; step-daughter Dr. Roberta Roth (Richard Jones) of Cedar Falls; granddaughter Jessica Pecenka and grandson Zacariah Fliss; great-granddaughter Neela Pecenka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; brothers Cletus, Eugene and Gerald (in infancy); half-brother Joseph; sisters Kathleen Kezar and Mary Frances Brouwer.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
