Joan (‘JoAnn’) Jolliffe, 84, of Norwalk, IA, passed away at Urbandale Care Center in Urbandale on Friday, October 7, 2016. The family will receive friends at Brooks South Town Chapel in Des Moines, IA on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 12:00 noon with a service following at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Joan was born July 21, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas to Marion and Vera (Drumm) Rebstock and lived in El Dorado, Kansas. She was married to David Jolliffe November 23, 1952. Joan worked in bookkeeper/clerical positions for various companies over the years: Brenton Banks, Bankers Trust and Iowa Student Loan Liquidity. She also worked for Norwalk Public Library in her later years.
She loved her family and friends and enjoyed time spent with them. She was an avid gardener, an inveterate reader, enjoyed travel, golf, and loved animals – especially the many cocker spaniel companions she had over the years.
Joan is survived by her 3 children, Deborah Andreano of Des Moines, Kim Jolliffe of Des Moines, and Bryan (Donna Blacksmith) Jolliffe of Cumming; her grandchildren & great-grandchildren; Wes (Stacey) Jolliffe (Maura & Andrew Speck) of Des Moines and Charles (Emily) Layne (Kaden & Connor Layne) of Omaha, NE. Joan is also survived by her brother, Bill (Barbara) Rebstock of Sapulpa, OK; her nephew Bill (Kristie) Rebstock of El Dorado, KS and their children; her niece Laurie of San Francisco, CA and her child, her aunt Pauline Campbell of Wichita, KS; her cousin Gary (Wendy) Campbell of Lees Summit, KS and their children; and her dear friend, Karen (Bob) Endres of Des Moines.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Marion Rebstock; her aunt, Mildred Weaver; her grandparents, William and Lillian Drumm, and Anna and Samuel Rebstock.
The family wants to thank the many friends and staff members at Urbandale Care Center for the excellent care given to Joan and the compassionate kindness given to both Joan and her loved ones during her illness and time there.
