James “Jim” Patrick Mills was born March 17, 1951 in Waterloo, IA, son of James Louis and Ann (Murray) Mills. He graduated from New Hartford High School in 1969. Jim served his country in the Navy. On April 5, 1975, he was united in marriage to Colleen Kezar. Jim went to work at John Deere for 34 years doing various jobs, his most recent being an inspector. Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and golfing, but most of all he loved his family.

Jim died at the age of 65 on Monday October 31, 2016 at his home in Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Colleen, his two children: Brandon (Carla Buck) Mills of Grundy Center and Korrena (Jacob) Tisue of McFarland, WI; five grandchildren: Samuel Tisue, Brandon Mills, Ozzie Tisue, Brittany Flores, and Alytha Tisue; two great grandchildren: Max Flores and Mia Flores; five brothers: Dan (Karen) Mills of Massachusetts; Joel (Vickie) Mills of Waterloo, IA; Loel (Wynette) Mills of Waverly, IA; Al (Linda) of Waterloo, IA; and Don Mills of Texas; and two sisters: Janiece (Paul) Weinberger of Louisiana and Jennifer (Jimmy) Billiot of Louisiana.
