James Dalziel

James Alexander Dalziel, 81, of Evansdale, died of a lengthy illness on Thursday, November 2, 2017, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on July 12, 1936, in Waterloo, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Neil) Dalziel.  James married Sandra Miller on March 16, 1957.  She preceded him in death on August 30, 2006.  James began working at John Deere on May 8, 1958, and retired on June 1, 1988.  He and Sandi owned Sandi’s Creations Ceramics in Evansdale.  James married Marcia Standridge on June 27, 2007.  James loved being with his family and traveling.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Sandi.  James is survived by his wife, Marcia, of Evansdale; four children, Julie (Ray) Gilbert of Des Moines, Janet (Kyle) Troyer of Des Moines, Andy (Tina) Dalziel of Evansdale, and Jennie (Jerry) Bowser of Evansdale; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two step sons, Dan (Heidi) Standridge of Boone and Pete (Kathy Standridge of Evansdale; eight step grandchildren; a sister in law, June (Fred) Allen of Waterloo; a brother in law, Pepper (Linda) Miller of Waukon; and many nieces and nephews.
