Jacquelyn Suzanne (Puffett) Burr

Jacquelyn Suzanne (Puffett) Burr, 24, of Des Moines, left this world Friday, September 15th 2017, surrounded by loving family and friends, after three days in the Critical Care Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.  The cause of death is believed to be cardiac arrest resulting from a seizure.

Visitation will be at Merle Hay Funeral Home on, Thursday September 21 from 5 – 8 p.m, Her funeral service, also at Merle Hay will be on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Gardens.

Jackie was born May 3rd, 1993 to Dave and Karen (Hendrickson) Puffett in Des Moines. Jackie met the love of her life, Eric Burr, in 2008, and their first date was on November 2nd.  They were married five years later to the day.  Jackie helped her beloved husband manage the Hickman Road Jimmy John’s in Urbandale, where she was dearly loved by her co-workers.  Jackie graduated from Hoover High School in 2011, and earned her certificate in phlebotomy from DMACC.

One of the most significant contributions of Jackie’s life came about through her death as she was able to prolong and improve others’ lives through organ and tissue donation.  Recipients were found for her heart, liver, kidneys, and more. This is truly a miracle in itself.

Jackie had a sweet sense of humor, loved to laugh and to make people laugh. She could deliver lines from movies at the most appropriate times.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Eric Burr, her mom and dad, mother-in-law Cindy Burr, sister Angela (Puffett) Harless, sister-in-law Kylie Burr, brother-in-law Daniel Harless, and her adoring and adorable niece and nephew, Ruth Harless and Ryder Burr. She is also survived by her Grandma Dorothy Puffett and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins on both sides.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Donor Network or Epilepsy Foundation of Iowa.

A wonderful way to honor Jackie would be to consider becoming an organ and tissue donor, and making your family aware of that wish.
