Hilma Adkisson was born on April 6, 1925, in Williamsburg, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Clara (Walter) Pretz. On April 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Louis Adkisson at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charles City; he passed away on June 4, 2002. Hilma was a secretary at the UAW Local 838 and retired from there in 1987. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Some of her hobbies include cross-stitching and doing word searches.
On Friday, August 11, 2017, she passed away at Manorcare, at the age of 92 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brother, Daryl Pretz. Hilma is survived by her son, Scott Adkisson of Waterloo; her daughter, Lisa Brandau of Waterloo; and her grandchildren: Sam and Mandy Adkisson, and Ian Brandau.
