Helen P. Hauschildt, 96, of Traer, entered into eternal life on Wednesday evening, Nov. 23, 2016, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dysart, with burial at the Dysart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Traer.

Helen was born November 12, 1920, on the Pippert farm near Dysart, Iowa, to John and Helene (Bockhaus) Pippert. She began her education in country school, graduating from Dysart High School in 1938. She married Clifford Hauschildt in Dysart on November 19, 1944. They farmed in the Buckingham and Dysart area, retiring in 1985.

She was a lifelong member of the Dysart United Methodist Church and the Traer American Legion Auxiliary. She treasured her family of 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with crocheting and quilting.

Helen is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: Leo and Leorita of Cedar Rapids, Paul and Peg of Minneapolis and Randy and Ann of Marion; eight grandchildren: Dana (David) Medin, Craig (Kana) and Marc (Amy), Ashley and Katie. Amy (Jeff) Dolan, Jason (Nita) and Stacy; and eight great-grandchildren, Dawson and Daniel Medin, Amaya Warren, Allyson and Matthew Dolan, Leio, Mayu, and Asha Hauschildt. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, August Hauschildt Jr. of Gladbrook.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; her brother, Walter; and sister, Elaine Wagner.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
