Frank H. Meggers, 88, of Albuquerque New Mexico and formerly of Traer, died at his home on November 1, 2016. He was born on March 13, 1928, the son of Franz and Elsie (Hagge) Meggers. Frank graduated from Dinsdale High School in 1947 and then attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1952. Frank was employed by Farmers Savings Bank in Traer, a bank in Burlington, Colorado, and later purchased a motel and rental properties in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Frank was active in the Traer American Legion and was very passionate about giving and serving several charities. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David. Frank is survived by two brothers, Don (Betty) of Hudson and Leslie (Linda) of Traer; four nephews, Nolan (Carol), Mike, Tim (Kim), and Joel (Monica); a niece, Susan; and a niece-in-law, Diane. There will be a graveside service at Buckingham Cemetery in rural Traer at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016. Military rites will be conducted by the Traer American Legion.
