Frances Pearl (Cox) Womacks

July 6, 1922 - August 19, 2016

Frances went to be with our Lord August 19, 2016 at Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

Frances was born in Indianapolis, Indiana July 6, 1922.  She grew up in South Bend, Indiana.  In the summers she would stay with her grandparents in Kingman, Indiana.   She met her husband, Don at church in Kingman in 1939.  They were married on December 22, 1940.

 

Frances accepted Christ as her savior when she was 12 years old at First Christian church in South Bend, IN.

 

In 1950 Don and Fran Moved to Des Moines, Ia. Mom was an active member of First Federated Church for 66 years.

 

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Don Womacks and son-in-law, Mace Stanger.

 

She is survived by her children: Donna Stanger, Peg Olson (Paul), Shirley Godfrey (Denny), Paul Womacks (Beth), Deb Schmidt (Bruce), and Deanne Bottenfield (Jim). Grandchildren, Tim Stanger, Ben (Leasa) Stanger, Rachelle (David) Tesser, Mark Stanger, Phil (Amanda) Olson, Pam Heintzleman, Polly (Jason) Noble, Josh (Lorrie) Godfrey, Jon (Sarah) Godfrey, Joe (Meredith) Godfrey, Nathan (Sara) Womacks, Jacob (Amy) Womacks, Jenny (Jack) Henkemeyer, Ryan (Toni) Schmidt, Meredith (Keith) Seivert, Jessica Bottenfield-Biehn (James), Nick Bottenfield, Justin Bottenfield; 46 great-grandchildren.

 

 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 22nd at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Ave., Des Moines. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines. Entombment will be at Merle Hay Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to First Federated Church or Gideons International.
