Emma Fick, 89, of Winterset, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Winterset Care Center. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Emma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Duane; four children Connie Loftus (Dennis) of New York, Patty (Tom) Hendricks of Arizona, Donna (Bruce) Muir, and Dennis (Allison) Fick both of Des Moines; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; brother Ed and sister Wilma; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Gerald.

Emma was born on June 28, 1927 in Carlisle, the daughter of William and Ethen Stevens Curry. On May 28, 1952 she married Duane Herman Fick at Rising Sun Church in Pleasant Hill. She worked as a bank teller for many years. Her and Duane resided in Altoona for many years.

Emma never knew a stranger and everyone came first. Whenever she heard music, Emma loved to do a little jig along to it. She enjoyed cooking wonderful meals, bowling, skating, fishing, and hunting with Duane.
