Eleanor Zoe Boots Johnson

Eleanor Zoe Boots Johnson passed away March 14th 2018, just one month shy of her 91st birthday. She was born in Sac City, Iowa on April 16, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kate Eleanor and Edward Page, her husbands Ennis C. Boots and Dale Johnson, her sister Margaret Clark and her son Tom Boots.
Eleanor graduated from Sac City High School and then attended AIB. After moving to Des Moines she worked for Banker’s Life, and later worked for the VA in Knoxville. Eleanor and Ennis Boots were married on May 29th, 1948. They had 3 children, Thomas (Chris) Boots, Rick (Mary) Boots, and Martha (Tony) Schmitt. Eleanor and Ennis ran a photography studio until Ennis passed away in 1972.
She married Dale Johnson on February 24th, 1979. Eleanor and Dale raised cattle and loved all animals. They enjoyed gardening and always shared what they grew. They loved Big Band music and ballroom dancing. Eleanor was a happy, cheerful person who laughed easily.
Left behind to remember and miss are her 2 children: Rick and Martha, 8 grandchildren: Stacey, Stephen, Lindsey, Travis, Theresa, Michael, Mark and Vanessa, 10 great-grandchildren: Brinley, Brecken, Christopher, Gregory, Emily, Julian, Gage, Camille, Ryland and Rexford, 3 great-great grandchildren: Landen, Alexa and Isabelle, and numerous nieces and nephews including her special niece and friend, Phyllis Toy.
Funeral services for Eleanor will be held at 3:00 pm on March 24th at Des Moines Intentional Eucharistic Community, 3306 University Avenue, Des Moines.
