Dominic J Sposeto of Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016 at the age of 98. He was born in Des Moines, IA and was one of ten children. He graduated from Lincoln High School and spent one year at Drake University.
Dominic worked a variety of jobs, but found his calling at Graziano Bros Grocery where he made Italian sausage. One of his greatest accomplishments was building a split rail fence around his property which the neighbors managed to set on fire at least once every few years. He had a workroom packed with every screw/nut/bolt/tool he ever found and had the belief (sometimes mistakenly) that he could fix almost anything.
He loved telling jokes but most of the time they were not funny. He was a loving, caring and giving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His constant humor, positive attitude and infectious smile will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Dominic (Kitty); daughter, Gina Mamone; six grandchildren, Nic (Marissa), Andy, Ryan, Emily, Monica and Allie; and one great-grandchild, Olivia.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Brooks (Sunset) South Town Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines.
