Dennis George De Vore, Jr. was born on October 22, 1967, in Iowa City, the son of Dennis De Vore Sr.and Carleen Neuenkirk. He went to Expo High School and later on received his GED. Dennis went to college for horticulture and got his HVAC certificate from Hawkeye Community College. Dennis owned and operated his heating and cooling business with his sons. He also worked many years at the Iowa Beef Products which is now Tyson. On July 4, 1996, he was united in marriage to Sheila Milligan; she later passed away on May 19, 2009. Dennis married his second wife, Elizabeth Dell Huff, on November 24, 2016. He enjoyed riding his Harley, camping, fishing, and having bonfires. Dennis was a family-oriented man and loved doting upon his children but especially his grandchildren.
On Thursday, September 21, 2017, he passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics at the age of 49 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila De Vore; his granddaughter, Cloee; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Dennis is survived by his parents; his second wife, Elizabeth Huff; his three sons: Daniel (Kimberly) De Vore Sr., Dennis De Vore III, and Patrick De Vore, all of Waterloo; two daughters: Sarah (Keith Cox) De Vore and Darci (Charles) Medina of Waterloo; one brother, David (Jennifer) De Vore of Maynard; 15 grandchildren and two on the way.
