Delores Jean Phelps was born July 24, 1960 in Waterloo, Iowa: the daughter of Vernon “Bud” and Dorothy (Voss) Bunce. She graduated from Central High School. Delores received her Associates degree at Hawkeye Community College before attending the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in 1995. She was employed at Tolemac in Waverly as a computer programmer and took over the company supporting clients until her retirement in 2014. After her retirement, Delores enjoyed needlepoint, was an avid Whedonverse fan, M&M’s and playing games on Pogo.com. Most of all, she loved traveling and visiting her family.
Delores passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque at the age of 55. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Doreen Bunce. Delores is survived by 2 daughters: Jasmine (Dondi) Reed of Dubuque and Jill Lawson (Adam Phillips) of Cedar Falls; a son Keith Phelps of Iowa; 6 grandchildren: Christian Reed, Riley Phelps, Dylan Sweerin, Gabriel Marsh, Logan Marsh and Emily Reed and 2 sisters: Diane (Dave) Duneman of Tennessee and Donna Kozich of Walford, Iowa.
Delores was a very positive person and she was a caretaker to all. She was there for everyone and put their needs in front of her own.
