Delores Jean Caslavka was born July 5, 1927, in rural Traer, daughter of Herbert and Amelia (Reuman) Claussen. She was raised on the family farm North of Traer. She attended Buckingham School, then Traer High School graduating with the Class of 1944. Delores was married to Warren Caslavka on March 25, 1952, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Traer, owning and operating their feed and fertilizer business, Cas Feed Store. Delores was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church serving as past President of her circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she also served as past President. Delores worked at Sunrise Hill Care Center as a Dietary Aide where she took great pleasure in interacting with the residents and her co-workers. She was a legendary cook and baker. Delores enjoyed freezing and canning fruits and vegetables from her garden. She also planted and tended her beautiful flower beds. Delores enjoyed handiwork crocheting, knitting and quilting. She bowled for many years, loved to polka dance, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and sudoku. Above all, Delores always made her beloved family her first priority and loved them dearly.
Delores passed away at Sunrise Hill Care Center on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2008; and a grandson, Gregory. Delores is survived by her 3 sons: Lon (Diane Allen) Caslavka of Emmetsburg, Lee (Cheryl) Caslavka of Centreville, VA, and Bret Caslavka of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Marcia (Joe) Cifaldo of Warren, ME; a step-daughter, Nicole Torgerson of Colorado Springs, CO; 9 grandchildren: Justin (Cana) Caslavka, Jamie (Jammie) Riffey, Jason (Jen) Caslavka, Philip Caslavka, Austin Caslavka, Brady Caslavka, and Bret Caslavka, Michael Cifaldo and Jay Cifaldo; and 4 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Luke, Olivia and Gregory.
Delores will be missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be directed to the family.
