Cletus Gene Wheeler was born May 28, 1931 in Dunkerton, Iowa: the son of Roy and Doris (Smith) Wheeler. He graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1949. Cletus served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Agnes Stock on November 11, 1957 in Harmony, Minnesota. Cletus was employed at Rath Packing Company for 34 years and he also farmed in Dunkerton area, retiring in 2002.
Cletus passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at NorthCrest Specialty Care Center at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Alvin Wheeler and 2 sisters: Arlene Lofstuen and Gladys Day. Cletus is survived by his wife Agnes of Dunkerton; 3 sons: Doug (Kathryn) Wheeler of Dunkerton, Darrel (Keri) Wheeler of Elk Run Heights and Jeff (Michelle) Wheeler of Dunkerton; a daughter Lynda (Doug) Hintzman of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 on the way; and 2 sisters: Rae (Roy) Moss of Indianola and Dory Sanchez of Capistrano Beach, California.
Cletus will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
