Cletis LeRoy Weitnauer was born June 2, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa: the son of William and Fern (Bard) Wittenauer. He graduated from East Waterloo High School, then served in the United States Air Force. Cletis was united in marriage to Patricia Bond on May 22, 1964 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He worked at John Deere Engine Works from September 12, 1963, retiring on December 31, 1992 Cletis enjoyed motorcycle riding, collecting Ruger handguns and John Deere collectibles.
Cletis passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Ravenwood Specialty Care at the age of 80. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Weitnauer. Cletis is survived by his wife Patricia of Waterloo; a son William (Lisa) Weitnauer of Waterloo; 3 daughters: Debra (Mike) Jones of Des Moines, Vicky (Paul) Woodard of Junction City, Kansas and Pamela (Daniel) Carpenter of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother Jack Weitnauer of Wintersprings, Florida and 2 sisters: Norva Erickson of Louisville, Kentucky and Iona (Zipp) Douda of Delhi.
