Audrey Jane Deardoff was born June 1st, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa: the daughter of Henry and Doris (West) Haffa. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School with the class of 1949. Audrey worked as a CNA in home health care for many years, and worked in sales for several local retail businesses. She was also a sales representative for the Fuller Brush Company for numerous years. Audrey was an avid animal lover, enjoyed cooking and traveling, and especially loved caring for her family. Her passion for her grandchildren was an utmost and well-known priority. Audrey was a member of the VFW Post 1623 Ladies’ Auxiliary and a member of the Order Eastern Star Chapter 78 since 1951.

Audrey passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Laurie Rath and a sister Virginia McNabb. Audrey is survived by two sons: Mike Rath of Cedar Falls and Rick (Teresa) Deardoff of Guttenburg; two daughters: Karen Rath (Tom) Hoeppner of New Hartford and Patricia Rath of Rose Hill, Iowa; six grandchildren: Angela Hoeppner, Mike Rath and Dawn  Rath, Caleb, Jordan and Maddison Wood; four great-grandchildren: Michael, Aaron, Cameron and Autumn and a brother Henry “Bill” (Helen) Haffa of Mesa, Arizona.
