Maxine Huser

Maxine Elsie Huser was born June 5, 1922 on a farm in Minnesota. She was the daughter of Walter and Elsie McDivitt. As a youngster, the family moved to Urbandale, where she graduated high school in 1940. She married Lawrence Robert Evans on June 8, 1940. He was killed in action on January 7, 1945, during WWII Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. They had a daughter, Sandra Kay. On December 31, 1947, Maxine was united in marriage to Rudolph C. Huser. Maxine attended first church of the Open Bible and was a member of Gold Star Wives.
Maxine passed away on February 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation will take place at 11AM, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Merle Hay Funeral Home: 4400 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12PM, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Her memory is honored by her daughter: Sandra (John) Nau; grandchildren: Todd Nau (Scott Dolphin), and Sheryl (Andy) Bartleman; great-grandchildren: Austen (Sarah) Hassebrock, Holly Hassebrock (Matt Faas), Manuel Dolphin-Nau, Lydia Dolphin-Nau; great-great-grandchildren: Milo Hassebrock, Hazel Hassebrock; and sisters: Ruth Reeck and Margie Foshe. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Elsie; her spouses: Robert and Rudolph; siblings: Melvin McDivitt, Geneva Lind, and infant Marilyn McDivitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
